MANDATE
The goal was to develop an awareness and understanding of the design of letterforms by observing them in a public context. The aesthetics, being my decision to make was a challenge due to having to incorporate the key structures of the chosen letter.
INSPIRATION
This letterform was inspired by San Pellegrino’s letter ‘E’. The letter had a unique bold shape. I thought it would be interesting to re-create the slanted legs that were demonstrated on that letter.
PROCESS
It was first constructed by its outline to save wood, then stained wood panels were added to articulate a homey vibe. The sides of the letter were painted one colour on top of another then sanded down to emphasize a rustic feel.
FINAL RESULT
This letterform can be enjoyed as a decoration around ones home to create a comfy and cozy atmosphere.
