MANDATE
This project's objective was to develop our skills in sustainable product and branding design all while raising awareness for the all women charitable organization, Chez Doris located in Montreal.
The inspiration towards these floor pillows were the lack of comfort the homeless face during everyday life.
BRANDING
The designs, logo and illustrations on the Püfs include a blue home and black thick lines. These branding details were influenced by Chez Doris’ logo. The tags that were sewn onto the Püfs were screen printed with Chez Doris’ typographic logo on one side to raise awareness. The Püfs logo was screen printed on the other side.
PROCESS
The Püfs were all handmade by my team and I, and built with sustainable and recycled materials. Fabric being dead stock and leftover mattress shreds that were expected to be thrown away from a Montreal mattress company. The fabric was cut first then screen and sublimation printed with the illustrations on all sides. The Püfs were then sewn together adding handles for easy transportation and tags for branding and awareness purposes.
FINAL RESULT
We believe the Püfs can be attracted by anybody who seek a product of versatility, comfortability and simple aesthetic. We successfully sold out at the annual pop-up shop at Concordia University and all proceeds were given to Chez Doris. Extra Püfs were sewn to be given to Chez Doris to be used for Yoga sessions and other activities held at the organization.
